Abstract in English
In the Northeast of Brazil, the “mocó” (Gossypium hirsutum Marie-galante Hutch.) stands out as the most imoortant agricultural product, judged by the production, the cultura area of dispersion , and the excellent quality of the fiber. It constitutes the main generativa eleroent of the regional products. Its cultura is predominantly rai sedi in association with other species, mainly with food plants. Although it is a typical culture of the region, it suffers from the scarce bibliographic information, be it information about the species itself, or be it other inforrnation about the cultivational systemsi association or weeds. Therefore, in 1965, four experiments were conducted with the objecti ve of checking the agronomic aspects of the associa tion of the “mocó” cotton wi th corn and beans, “forage palm” Optuncia Ficus-indica, Mill (Cactus Ficus-indica, L.) and grass. Two of them were exploited for five years Buenos Aires Farm - Boa Viagem and Campos Farm - Caninde, Ceara, Brasil). The other ones lasted four years and were located in the Farms Junco (Quixadá) and são Raimundo (Capistrano), Ceará, Brasil. In the study we tried to analyse the result of treatments, y9ar by year; the avsrags during the years; and the joint result of the places.
