Abstract in Portuguese
A: 52,4%; Trat. B: 52,2%; Trat. C: 51,5%) e da MO (Trat. A: 55,6%; Trat. B: 55,4%: Trat.
Abstract in English
A metabolic trial was carried out with adult withers, weighing about 41 kg, to test a industrially detoxicotid castor cake mill, through three treatments: ration A, 850g of alfafa hay; ration B, 750g of alfafa hay plus 45g of castor mill; and ration C, 650g of alfalfa hay plus 90g of castor mill. Thus, a similar level of energy and a very dose level of protein was furnished. The feces and urine collection was dove through the conventional method (total collection). The experimental design was o rotative kind of equilibrated latin squares. The average coefficients of digestibility determined dry matter 52,4% (treat. A), 52,2% (treat. B), 51,9% (treat. C); organic matter, 55,6% (treat. A), 55,4% (treat. B), 54,8% (treat. C) – did not show ariy statistical difference. A positive nitrogen balance of 20,67g, 30,64 g, 33,58g for treatment A, B and C, respectively, was verified during seven day periods of collection. The Protein Apparent Biological Values ABV) determined, in average, were 18,9%, 26,4%, 29,7% for A, B and C, where B and C were statistically higher than A. Thus indicating to be favorable to protein metabolism the association of detoxicated castor mill to alfafa hay. The overage coefficients of protein (treat. A, 71,1%; B; 78,2%; C, 75,3%), and energy (treat. A, 50,9%; B, 52,9%; C, 52,2%) were statistically different only between A and B, it was indicated a increment on the protein and energy digestibility when castor mill was associated to alfalfa hay. However such a increment was decreased when the proportion of castor mill was increased.
