Keywords in Portuguese
.

Abstract in English
The development of new products and new technologies have become a predominant factor for competitiveness, in which it is observed a constant search for the quality improvement and low cost. Recent works show the development of new dielectric materiais based on poliurethane resins derived from castor oil (ricinus communis). Today, the main applications of such resins are found in the medical areas. Brazilian researchers can synthesize those materials, thus, this work aims at characterizing the materiais according to their electric properties. A number of tests were executed, and the obtained results suggest promising perspectives for their use as solid insulatings. The methodology for preparing the adequate resin samples for the tests is aiso presented.
