No presente trabalho, comparam-se as capacidades resistentes de pilares esbeltos de concreto armado submetidos a flexão composta normal, determinadas pelo método do pilar padrão e pelos métodos de cálculo simplificados das normas NB-1/78, ACI 318-77 e DIN 1045/78. A comparação é feita utilizando diagramas de interação adimensionais v-µ1 construídos através de cada um dos métodos citados. Estudam-se pilares biarticulados, com seção transversal retangular constante e solicitados por força normal de compressão e momento fletor de 1ª ordem também constantes. Avalia-se a precisão dos métodos simplificados das normas, comparando os seus resultados com os resultados obtidos pelo método do pilar padrão e conclui-se que esses métodos conduzem a erros, por vezes significativos, que em geral são a favor da segurança mas em alguns casos são contra a segurança.

The scope of this presentation is to compare the strenght of slender reinforced concrete columns subjected to axial force and uniaxial bending moment, computed by the model column method and by the simplified methods from the codes NB-1/78, ACI 318-77 and DIN 1045/78. Interaction diagrams, which relate the adimensionals v-µ1, are constructed by each one of the forementioned methods and used to compare the diferente results obtained from them. This study delas with simply supported columns of rectangular cross section, subjected to constant compressive axial force and constant first order moment. The accuracy of the simplified methods is evaluated comparing their results with the results computed by the model column method. It is concluded that those methods lead to erros, sometimes significant, generally on the safe side but in some cases against safety.
