Frequentemente os problemas que aparecem na teoria da confiabilidade sao resolvidos por calculos da confiabilidade de natureza estatica: a variavel de tempo t e usualmente fixada e a evolucao da confiabilidade do sistema no tempo e ignorada. Uma abordagem simples para considerar a dinamica do sistema no tempo e a interdependencia entre os componentes se faz com o uso da teoria dos martingais para processos pontuais. Nessa dissertacao determinamos o processo pontual multivariado das falhas dos componentes de um sistema, caracterizamos a propriedade de associacao de variaveis aleatorias atraves dos processos covariancia, analisamos medidas de importancia da confiabilidade do componente, generalizamos a nocao de funcao de risco e estudamos classes de distribuicoes de vida em termos da ordenacao estocastica condicional a 'SIGMA MINUSCULO'-algebra do passado observado
