Esta tese propõe uma interpretação da fase derradeira, materialista, do pensamento de Walter Benjamin, fundada em uma perspectiva triádica, que se baseia na coexistência de três tendências de pensamento distintas e inconciliáveis entre si – marxismo heterodoxo, certo messianismo judaico e romantismo anticapitalista –, como alternativa às interpretações dicotômicas mais comuns, que optam usualmente pelo marxismo em oposição ao messianismo. Após (i) uma apresentação poético-biográfica dessa hipótese e de uma tradução conceitual dela, a argumentação é construída sobre (ii) uma discussão acerca da caracterização do objeto de investigação da pesquisa, através da ampliação do sentido de projeto das Passagens, que diz respeito ao núcleo de textos formados pelos exposés, pelos Konvolute com as "notas e materiais" e pelos esboços iniciais, para complexo das Passagens, que passaria a considerar toda a sorte de textos a ele afinados, desde Rua de mão única aos escritos sobre Baudelaire e as teses "Sobre o conceito de história", passando pelos principais ensaios redigidos na década de 1930. Em seguida, (iii) acompanha-se o exame material da realidade feito por Benjamin através de uma leitura transversal de alguns destes textos, salientando a presença proeminente de determinadas tendências de pensamento. Por fim, (iv) por meio de uma análise dirigida de alguns dos temas mais pungentes das teses "Sobre o conceito de história" sob a lente triádica, destaca-se a importância do plano da história para a realização efetiva do programa crítico benjaminiano

This thesis proposes an interpretation of the late, materialist phase of Walter Benjamin's thought, grounded in a triadic perspective, which is based on the coexistence of three distinct and irreconcilable tendencies of thought – heterodox Marxism, a certain Jewish messianism and anti-capitalist romanticism – as an alternative to the most common dichotomous interpretations, which usually opt for Marxism as opposed to messianism. After (i) a poetic-biographical presentation of this hypothesis and a conceptual translation of it, the argument is built on (ii) a discussion about the characterization of the object of the research's investigation, by expanding the sense of the Arcades project, which concerns the core of texts constituted by the exposés, the Konvolute with the "notes and materials" and the early sketches, to the Arcades complex, which would come to consider all sorts of texts related to it, from One-Way Street to the writings on Baudelaire and the theses "On the Concept of History", passing through the key essays written in the 1930s. Then, (iii) we follow Benjamin's material examination of reality through a cross-sectional reading of some of these texts, pointing out the prominent presence of certain trends of thought. Finally, (iv) through an oriented analysis of some of the most pungent themes of the theses "On the Concept of History" under the triadic lens, we highlight the relevance of the historical dimension for the effective realization of Benjamin's critical program
